Future Missions and Architectures

Earth observation (EO) missions are driven by science and applications. As ESA EO Future Systems Φ-Department, we initiate studies related to design and assess the feasibility of new EO mission concepts.

This includes architecture system specifications supported by detailed engineering budgets and end-to-end mission performance analysis, confirmed through pre-development activities of critical technologies and instruments. The work is carried out in collaboration with other groups that assess the impact of specific science and application projects.
